God Created Man In His Own Image - Newspaper Article 11/3/22

The Order of Creation is under assault. But what is the Order of Creation? God created all things and He created all things within a particular order so that everything might operate together properly. For instance, God created humans, animals, and plants; all of them are living, but not all of them are the same. God created man to have dominion over this creation, so we work the ground, kill the weeds and pests, cultivate crops, and raise livestock. Among mankind there is also order; God created us male and female, husbands and wives, parents and children, leaders and followers.

Different people are given different work to do based upon who God created them to be. Additionally, God created people differently with unique skills and characteristics unique to their station in life. This is apparent in our bodies, but it’s also evident in our personalities. Thus it really should go without saying, men and women are different from each other, they can’t do all of the same things, nor should they, and that’s beautiful! The Order of Creation is like harmonized music in that both may be working toward the same goal, but their work is just enough different and similar to form a beautiful harmony.

That Order of Creation is under assault today. We see this mostly clearly in the recent push towards transgenderism. Transgenderism claims that the most basic distinction among humans (man and woman) is interchangeable. This implies that God was wrong when He created us male and female, and that the distinction is neither significant nor fundamental to how God made us. We see another level of this with transspecies, such as furries, in which one takes on the persona and behaviors of an animal. It is not just that men and women are under assault, but all of God’s divine ordering of His creation.

This is a satanic assault. The devil hates God. Since God created us in His own image, and created this world within a specific order, therefore the devil hates us and this created order. The devil wants to overturn the created order so that he might distort the image of God in man even more. It has become obvious that this is satanic since now children are having their bodies mutilated and are taking chemical hormonal therapy, permanently disfiguring their bodies. While this particular assault against the Order of Creation is recent, the roots of this assault go back generations.

Feminism has for over a century saught to lessen the differences between men and women. While it is true that both men and women are of equal value and worth, it is not true that men and women are the same and should always be treated the same. Sports makes this obvious: when boys are permitted to compete in girls’ sports, the boys win because their bodies are significantly more muscular; this is entirely unfair treatment of girls and takes advantage of them. The same principle applies in many facets of life, such that when both men and women are treated the same, one or both sexes suffer because they’re not being treated according to their actual needs.

How do we combat this assault on the Order of Creation? Firstly, we need to remember that our battle is not against those who have fallen into transgenderism or transhumanism, those people need forgiveness and compassion to bring them back, not our mockery and scorn. But then we combat this assault by embracing, celebrating, and delighting in God’s Order of Creation! God created us distinctly as humans, either man or woman, adult or child, with certain gifts and duties particular to who God made us. That’s a beautiful thing!

When we embrace and delight in who God made us to be, the confused world around us yearns for the goodness of God’s Order of Creation. It may not look like much, but by men embracing their masculinity, and women embracing their femininity, we fight back against this Satanic assault on the Order of Creation. It is good for men to be masculine! God created men with strong bodies, analytical minds, and to be leaders willing to sacrifice themselves like Christ sacrificed Himself for His bride the church. It is good for women to be feminine! God created women with softly delicate bodies, emotional minds, and to be nurturers who empathize well with others. Of course there’s some crossover, but speaking in generalities these things are true and good. Men and women shouldn’t be ashamed of who God has made them to be. So when men are men and women are women, we are directly countering the devil’s attack on the Order of Creation!

What’s more, when we live according to how God created us, we are glorifying God and the image of God! God is glorified in the masculinity of man and the femininity of woman. Being who God made us isn’t something to be embarrassed about or ashamed of, it’s a good and holy thing. When the Order of Creation is under attack, the confession required of us Christians is to live according to God’s created order.

Your friend in Christ,

Rev. John Henry Koopman
